During the 2009-2010 year:
- UT Austin’s tuition and fees for Texas residents increased by 4.95% from 2008-09 to 2009-10 (from 2009-10 to 2010-11 it increased by only 3.95%) -- compared to a 6.4% average increase in tuition and fees for in-state students at public four-year colleges and universities all across the U.S. (see Trends in College Pricing).
- Students with financial need at UT Austin received more than $116 million in need-based grants;
- Students received more than $87 million in scholarships, with over $60 million of that figure in institutional scholarships.
