Non-Degree Seekers

To be eligible for financial aid, students must be either 1) enrolled in a degree-seeking program at The University of Texas at Austin, 2) enrolled in prerequisite courses that will allow a student to subsequently enroll in a degree seeking program, or 3) seeking teaching certification as required by the State of Texas. If you have have been denied financial aid because of a non-degree seeking status, you must submit a completed Financial Aid Appeal Form for Degree Holders, filled out by you and your academic advisor, to the Office of Financial Aid.

Second Degree Seekers

Students enrolled in a program at The University of Texas at Austin which leads to a second Undergraduate, Master's, or Ph.D. degree, are only eligible for Federal Direct student loans, Federal Direct Parent loans (if student is dependent), or alternative/private loans. If you are seeking a second degree, you must submit a completed Financial Aid Appeal Form for Degree Holders, filled out by you and your academic advisor, to the Office of Financial Aid.
