CASH (Check Aid Status Here) provides access to the financial aid information you need to know. Through links and required and recommended items, CASH offers secure, individualized information from FAFSA application submission to financial aid release and beyond.
The Application Status link in CASH provides information on FAFSA, ApplyTexas, and Continuing & Transfer Student Scholarship applications.
Once we evaluate your application, we may post additional documentation requirements under What Do I Need to Complete? in CASH. Fulfill these requirements in a timely manner to avoid a delay in processing your financial aid awards.
A common item listed under What Do I Need to Complete? is verification. Required of all schools that disburse federal funding, verification is a method used by the U.S. Department of Education to check the accuracy of information submitted on the FAFSA.
If you are selected for verification you may be asked to provide a copy of your, your spouse's (if applicable), and your parents' (for dependent students) Income Tax Return Transcripts, W-2 forms, and/or other documents.* All requested verification documents must be received no later than one month before the end of the semester for which you are applying for aid.
If you are not selected for verification, we will continue to process your FAFSA and offer you a Financial Aid Notification (FAN).

*If OSFS suspects that a student or other individual has misreported information or altered documentation to fraudulently obtain federal funds, our office may report suspicions and provide evidence to the Office of Inspector General, U.S. Department of Education.
