Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan Master Promissory Note
The first time you borrow a Federal Direct Loan at UT Austin you are required to
sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN). The MPN covers more than one loan or loan
period and is valid for up to 10 years.
After completing the FAN, the "What Do I Need to Complete" page on CASH will
display a link to the Federal Student Loan
web site so you can complete an online promissory note.
To complete the Federal Direct Loan MPN, you'll need to provide some general information
about yourself, along with the names, addresses and contact information for two
references.
