The Graduate PLUS loan was created to assist graduate students in funding their entire cost of attendance minus already awarded financial aid. To borrow the Graduate PLUS loan, you must complete the PLUS Application and Master Promissory Note (MPN). The MPN is valid for up to 10 years, provided that you keep the same lender. Note: Even though the MPN is valid for 10 years, you must still apply each year (and undergo a credit check) for any subsequent PLUS loans.

After completing the E-FAN, CASH will display, depending on your lender, either a link to your lender's web site so you can complete an online application/promissory note, or a message telling you that you are being sent an application/promissory note by mail. If you receive your PLUS Application and MPN in the mail, simply complete it, sign it and and mail it back to your lender for processing.

To complete the PLUS Application and MPN, you'll need to provide some general information about yourself, along with the names, addresses and contact information for two references.
