Scholarships typically are awarded by considering three criteria: merit, need, and adversity. Some scholarship committees, which in the beginning of March begin making award decisions for the following academic year, may look at all three of these factors, while others may only consider merit.

All students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA along with their scholarship application to assist in the consideration process.
