Summer 2011 Pell Grant Release
Summer Session I/Whole Summer Session
Summer 2011 Pell Grants for students enrolled in Summer Session I and Whole Summer Session
are currently releasing. If you have been awarded a Pell Grant and it has not yet released
our office is currently reviewing those files in order to release the funds as soon as possible.
Pell Grants are available only to continuing students who were Pell Grant eligible based on
the 2010-2011 FAFSA and have completed the necessary hours requirements. Please keep in mind
that drops and withdrawals during the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semester may affect a student’s
Summer 2011 Pell eligibility.
Summer Session II
Pell Grants awarded to students enrolled only in Summer Session II will release after the start
of the second session. If this delay will cause a hardship, OSFS will provide assistance in the
form of an Emergency Cash Loan. Students must be available to sign the promissory note in person
to receive this emergency loan.
Please keep in mind, dropping classes or changing summer sessions (e.g. two sessions to one) may
result in an adjustment in the amount of the Pell Grant. This change could affect the student’s
ability to repay the emergency loan on time.
