The Job Bank
The Hire a Longhorn Job Bank is sponsored by Student Employment in the Office of Financial Aid. It is a free service available to employers and University of Texas at Austin students 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The job bank contains part-time, seasonal, and summer jobs of all kinds, on-campus or in the Austin metro area. Internships and full-time jobs are found in HireUTexas. The job bank is available to students who are currently enrolled or have been admitted to UT Austin.
Accessing the Job Bank
You are automatically registered for the job bank when you are admitted to the University. Your Login ID will be the email address associated with your student records. If you don't know your password and are unable to reset it on the Student Log In page, email our office.
The most common reason users are unable to access the job bank is that the password has changed or been forgotten. The second most common reason is your enrollment status. If you have withdrawn or have been dismissed from the University, or if you are in a Study Abroad program that reflects zero enrollment hours, you will not be able to access the job bank. Work-Study and the Job Bank
If your were recently awarded Work-Study and are having difficulty viewing Work-Study jobs on the job bank, there are several things that you can do. First, make sure you have accepted your Work-Study award by activating your Financial Aid Notification (FAN). Only students who have been awarded Work-Study can view Work-Study jobs. Next, be sure you are within the correct time period when trying to view jobs. You should be able to view Summer or Fall Work-Study jobs beginning in May. Spring Work-Study jobs can be viewed starting in early January.
Applying for a Job
Most employers require that students email a resume directly to them to apply for a job. If the employer prefers that the student apply by some other means (e.g., submitting an application or calling for more information), those instructions will be listed in the job posting.
