March 15 is the Deadline for all Financial Aid and Scholarship Applications
March 15 is now UT Austin’s single deadline for financial aid and scholarship applications, including the FAFSA and the continuing and transfer student scholarship application. Applications must be complete and correct by March 15 to be considered for university-administered scholarships or state grants. Start—or finish—your applications now!
File the FAFSA as soon as possible to give yourself plenty of time to gather necessary documents, review the application and correct errors as needed. If it’s available for you, use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to import your 2015 tax information to the FAFSA. This makes completion easier for you and helps prevent reporting errors that could delay the processing of your application.
Complete the continuing and transfer student scholarship application to be automatically considered for the majority of scholarships administered by the Office of Financial Aid. Many scholarships will have additional requirements including essays, recommendation letters and notarized forms. You can save, review and edit your progress in the application, but cannot make edits once it is submitted.
Earlier Financial Aid Notifications
The Office of Financial Aid will release Financial Aid Notifications (FANs) this spring. Starting your applications now will help to prevent delays in receiving your FAN.
